Plasterwork

Carved plaster has long been used to adorn and embellish the outside of buildings, mosques and homes throughout the Hejaz region. Artisans today are reinterpreting this traditional craft to create unique art pieces for display. Each plaster panel is poured and hand-carved in a variety of geometric patterns by female artisans in the city of Jeddah.
