Turquoise Mountain has just opened a new primary school building in Murad Khani, with the generous support of the British Council. The new building has four classrooms as well as a gymnasium, two garden spaces, a library, and a nursery for smaller children. Built almost entirely using traditional construction techniques and locally-sourced materials, the school is an example of traditional, beautiful, and sustainable Afghan architecture, with solar panels for electric and water heating provision further improving its environmentally friendly profile.
