CREATING EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN A REMOTE AREA OF AFGHANISTAN

Turquoise Mountain currently runs two schools for the weavers’ children in Bamiyan and serve 120 students a year. The schools are managed by skilled local teachers, and have pre-school as well as English classes for students up to the age of 20.

All classes have both boys and girls, and the teaching staff are supported with materials and resources to offer high-quality education. As many of them come from underprivileged backgrounds, pre-school students are also provided with uniforms and meals.
